Jeff Castner is a long time Marian University
professional who has developed a love of Marian University
athletics. He particularly enjoys watching and rooting for the Marian baseball
team, which has a rich and storied history that includes a wide array of
personalities, championship runs and overall successes.
Marian University is an Indianapolis-based school that has been involved in college
baseball since 1957. Jeff Castner enjoys reading and learning about the early
days of the Marian baseball program, which celebrated 50 years of existence in
early 2006. As a part of the Marian baseball fan base, Jeff Castner understands
that Marian baseball teams represent a big and important part of the school’s
athletic history, and that many former players have gone on to become valued
and successful members of their local communities.
Jeff Castner began his career at Marian
shortly before the baseball team transferred to Kaufman Field, which continues
to be the team’s home to this day. Since 1989, the team has enjoyed multiple
successes in college competition, including five MCC Conference Championships
and many All-Conference and All-American Player selections. Jeff Castner
continues to root for the team because he enjoys how competitive college
baseball is and how passionate the kids are about baseball and about winning.
